[ARCHIVED] STORM DAMAGE - FLOODING AND CLEAN UP

Lake County was hit by an extremely intense storm over the past 12 hours. This has resulted in street flooding, storm sewer surcharging, and basement flooding throughout Lake County and here in Highwood.  

The City is working to clear streets and monitor storm sewer inlets for debris. 

To dispose of damaged materials from basement flooding you may contact Lakeshore Recycling Systems for the following services: 

Small Clean Ups - Curbside Special Pick-Up:
  • $15 per yard with a 2 yard minimum – for general household material and construction debris. Material must be placed at the curb, no electronics or white goods.

Larger Clean Ups - Dumpster Service:
  • 20yd open top: $375 up to 5 tons, over 5 tons $55 per ton
  • 30yd open top: $425 up to 6 tons, over 6 tons $55 per ton
