The City of Highwood is pleased to report that the 2013 road improvement program is about to begin. This year's program will be a resurfacing project for Sheridan Avenue, Llewellyn Avenue and Grove Street and will include, curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement. The City's contractor, Chicagoland Paving, will be starting the project on Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Barring any unforeseen delays, we anticipate this project to be completed by the end of October.
To accommodate this road work, the affected streets will be closed to through traffic and non on street parking will be allowed between 7:00 am to 4:00 pm. During daytime hours, your driveway and sections of the road may be inaccessible for short durations. We will endeavor to work as quickly as possible to minimize this disruption and to the extent possible, work with you for alternative parking and access arrangements. If you have a medical condition and require special accommodations, please let me know as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly.
