The City of Highwood is pleased to announce the 2015 Capital Projects will begin on Monday, June 15th. This year the road and utility repairs will take place on Highwood Avenue, Pleasant Avenue and North Avenue. In different sections there will be roadway repaving, water main replacement or lining and sanitary sewer lining. Much of this work is overdue and we are happy to move forward on these repairs.
Due to the improvements, Highwood Avenue will become a one-way street from Western Avenue to High Street, heading East. As with all road improvement projects, we may encounter unpredictable traffic issues and additional traffic patterns may need to be amended as we move through the project.
While these efforts will result in great new roadways and utilities, construction projects are never fun and will require patience and teamwork. We would like to thank you in advance for working with us. Please pay attention in work zones to ensure both your safety and that of the workers on site. We will work to keep roads, driveway access and water service on as much as possible and work to communicate when delays or drops in service are expected.
