Firefighting Equipment
Our firefighting equipment includes a state-of-the-art quint, an advanced life support ambulance, a recently repainted engine and a utility/command vehicle. |
| Truck Co. 37 A quint is so named because it is equipped to perform five (5) firefighting functions: pumper, aerial ladder, water tanker, ground ladder truck and hose carrier. Also, a word of caution from the Highwood Fire Department – please yield to emergency vehicles. Pull to the right and stop or remain stopped in place as we approach. Our quint weighs over 26 tons! |
| Ambulance Co. 37 The Highwood Fire Department Ambulance carries a full complement of medical supplies and devices. In addition to the stretcher, bandages and oxygen, it is outfitted with a cardiac monitor/defibrillator, advanced airway equipment, emergency childbirth kits and an array of medications for treating a wide range of medical emergencies. And, most importantly, it carries highly-trained Firefighters/Paramedics to the scene of the emergency! |

Engine Co. 37 Our Engine 37 is a 1981 E-One pumper. It is capable of discharging 1500 gallons of water per minute through several hundred feet of hose and/or the beautiful brass deck gun nozzle mounted behind the cab. In 2002, the engine was repainted and there were some modifications made to the pump. |
