The City has partnered with Municipal Collections of America to collect outstanding debt.

The City’s debt recovery program partner, Municipal Collections of America (MCOA), has begun collecting outstanding debt, which includes but is not limited to; unpaid parking tickets, utility charges, building department fees, fire alarm monitoring fees, false alarms.

Letters or notices of outstanding debt are being sent out as City staff continue to audit the outstanding debt. Please contract MCOA directly at 877-751-7115, as the City has approved and established a process with MCOA to handle all inquiries, including if you believe the notice was sent to you in error.
In conjunction with MCOA, the City is now part of the State of Illinois’ Debt Recovery Offset Program (IDROP) run by the State Comptroller. The Comptroller’s office matches subjects in their state database with the files sent by the City. When a match is identified, the Comptroller’s office withholds money from state income taxes, lottery winnings or state employee paychecks to satisfy any debt listed in the IDROP.

The City’s debt recovery program hopes to collect hundreds of thousands of dollars in outstanding debt.
