School District 112 Upgraded Sticker
About the Upgraded Stickers
Highwood residents have the opportunity to support the 112 Education Foundation through the purchase of student-designed “Drive for Education” Highwood vehicle stickers, which may be purchased for an additional cost of $30.
To make this upgrade, residents simply check the appropriate box appearing on the City vehicle sticker application. Donations are collected by the City of Highwood and forwarded to the 112 Education Foundation and are tax-deductible.
Mission & Benefits of the 112 Education Foundation
The 112 Education Foundation’s mission is to enrich and enhance educational opportunities for all children in North Shore School District 112. The 112 Education Foundation is proud to have played a role in providing excellent educational opportunities for all District 112 students for more than 20 years. From the beginning, it has been their goal to provide immediate funding of the important extras that are the hallmark of an innovative school system. For more information, please visit the 112 Education Foundation's website.
The 112 Education Foundation is a private non-profit organization. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over half a million dollars to benefit the students of North Shore School District 112 (NSSD112). Moneys raised through vehicle sticker donations directly support the Foundation Grant program. More than $75,000 will be distributed for 65 grant programs in the 2015-16 school year. These creative and innovative programs will benefit students in all twelve schools in NSSD112.
In addition, the 112 Education Foundation has:
- Enabled students to learn from professional musicians in residency at district-wide schools through the Foundation’s partnership with Ravinia Festival’s Reach-Teach-Play program.
- Provided, in partnership with Ravinia Festival, Kids Go Classic, a free music concert to all district students and their families.
- Funded professional authors’ visits to improve literacy skills and inspire children to read.
- Supported technology programs and upgrades in all classrooms.
Of course none of this would be possible without the support of generous community and business donors in Highwood and Highland Park who consistently invest in District 112 students. It is through your commitment that the Foundation has been, and will continue to be, successful. Thank you for supporting the 112 Education Foundation.
